A Loss of a Friend last July

SALEM - Brandon James Madison, 33, a resident of Salem died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Salem. He was born in Portland, Oregon on June 5, 1975 the son of Gerald and Jean Layton Madison. He grew up in Scio and graduated from Scio High School in 1993. At the age of eight, he fell in love with horses and by the age of nine had trained his first horse. He met his partner David Johnson in July of 2000 and they recently moved to the Croisan Creek area of Salem. Together, they adopted Olivia and Phoenix their Dalmatians.

He attended Oregon State University and Washington State University each for two years. He played polo on the Washington State team. He has trained horses for many years and has a great love for all animals. He received many awards and trophies as he has competed in horse shows through the years. He loved to travel; Brandon and David had traveled all over the United States and warmer areas of the world. He also enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Jean Madison of Dallas; partner, David Johnson of Salem; brothers, Troy of Independence and Scott of Dallas; and sister, Tonya Smith of Dallas; grandparents, Les and Helen Madison of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.


Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 in the Bollman Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26 in the Dallas Cemetery. To leave an on-line condolence go to www.dallastribute.com.
